终身教授（英语：tenure、academic tenure）是在美国和加拿大的大学里一些教授职位的一种保障系统，使得大学教授通过考核期被正式授予终身教授后没有正当法律上的原因其职位不会被终止[1]。
终身教授制度最根本的部分是根据美国大学教授联合会《1940年关于学术自由与终身教授制原则的陈述》（1940 Statement of Principles on Academic Freedom and Tenure）[2]。
